![]() Sunset2011 (5x7, for sale) My first touch with acrylics and a brush, I have always loved sunsets and the colours that they evoke. My favourite thing: I like the colours of the sky and the texture the canvas brought to the painting. | ![]() Warm2011 (5x7, for sale) Another one of my favourite subject is boats. I love the ocean and ships and tropical places. My favourite thing: I really love the way the colours in the water blended in this one. |

![]() Fading Light2011 (5x7, for sale) Not a true representation of how this one looks in real life, I was inspired by darker colours and that moment where the sun has just sunk beneath the horizon, but there is still light lingering on the edge. My favourite thing: The pines. | ![]() Blue Sun2011 (9x12, for sale) Another foray into monochrome, I was aiming for something peaceful. My favourite thing: the haziness of the sky, and how the colours blended there. |
![]() Suddenly, Storm2011 (10x8, for sale) This is one of my favourite pieces. Still in my earlier experimental stages, I was asked by my sister to paint a thunderstorm. So I did. And combined it into something I like (the sunset motif). My favourite thing: The sky and the colours in the thundercloud | ![]() Sunset Cove2011 (12x16, unavailable) I've created multiple versions of this one. Something about the colours just really worked for me. This particular version is the second iteration, but created for a good friend as a wedding gift. My favourite thing: Really the entire composition. |
![]() Iron Man2012 (5x7, for sale) My favourite superhero. My favourite thing: The contrast | ![]() Fire on the Horizon2012 (11x14,unavailable) One of my absolute favourites. My favourite thing: Everything. I love how the clouds turned out. The palms, the sky. |
![]() Little Garden2012 (5x7, for sale) When it became apparent that I was sticking to a certain type of subject matter (sunsets and ocean scenes), I went after a type of scene that would use all the paints of which I used much less (blues, oranges). My favourite thing: the purple flowers | ![]() Fading Light (Version 2)2012 (10x8, for sale) The second iteration of this one, the sky reflecting more orange. My favourite thing: the pines again |
![]() Relax2012 (14x11, unavailable) Another wedding gift for friends. They had a tropical honeymoon, and I wanted to paint something reflective of that. My favourite thing: the ropes on the canoe and the straw detail on the canopy | ![]() Sunset Cove (Version 2)2013 (8x10, sold) I returned to this one again. There's more pink in it clearly than the other. I like the balance of purple in the other one better. My favourite thing: the highlights on the rocks and the thinness of the clouds |
![]() Blue Sun (Version 2)2013 (11x14, sold) I returned to this one as well. This is a second iteration that I might like better than the first. My favourite thing: the contrast of the ocean to the sky with the yellows and greys. | ![]() Brilliant Sun2013 (14x11, unavailable) Another wedding gift, I returned to my motifs of sun and ocean and sky. More details to the clouds, however. My favourite thing: the composition. I like the ocean and the clouds and colours in the water. |
![]() Open Road2013 (14x11, for sale) Inspired by a drive home when it was just getting dark, and I was the only one around. Just me and my car and the headlights on the pavement. My favourite thing: the sky | ![]() Purple Mountains Majesty2013 (10x8, for sale) Inspired by the colours in a make-up bag I found, this piece was born, along with the subsequent sister piece. My favourite thing: the clouds |
![]() Purple Mountains Majesty (Version 2)2013 (10x8, for sale) Same story as the previous piece, pinks and purples inspired. My favourite thing: the shadows on the mountains | ![]() Summer's Last Campfire2013 (14x11, unavailable) A housewarming gift for a friend. Halfway inspired by the Open Road picture. More sunset, but more greens and yellows present here for a slightly different take. My favourite thing: the campfire smoke and the cinders |
![]() Stones of Yesterday2013 (48x40, commission) My first commission, this is by far, my favourite piece. This is a triptych on wrapped canvases, inspired by the Calendish stones. Doubly rewarding because my commissioners were very, very pleased. This was also my first time working this large. My favourite thing: everything | ![]() Love2013 (11x14, unavailable) This is a reproduction of an Aldo Luongo painting as a wedding gift to a friend, so no credit can be taken by me for the subject matter. Said friend saw it in a house and mentioned it, but I didn't get around to it until shortly before her wedding. It was my first attempt at painting people. My favourite thing: the hair |
![]() TARDIS2013 (9x12, unavailable) Originally a gift idea for my brother as he and I are both fans of Doctor Who, I created two copies, one of which went to him, the other remains in my possession currently. My favourite thing: the background | ![]() TARDIS (Version 2)2013 (9x12, for sale) The copy that I currently own. The TARDIS from Doctor Who My favourite thing: the background |
![]() Misty Mountains2014 (12x16, for sale) Inspired by the old Chinese paintings, falling short of their simplicity and elegance, but a good practise with values nonetheless. My favourite thing: the texture of the mountains | ![]() Planet Rise2014 (12x9, for sale) I wanted to try something different. So this is more a sci-fi type scene, the big moon or planet coming up over the horizon. My favourite thing: the planet/moon in the middleground |
![]() Dragons at Play2014 (9x12, sold) A little twist on the former, using a lot of the same colours, I added in the dragons for a big of fun. My favourite thing: the dragons | ![]() Winter Night2014 (9x12, for sale) I tried something different with this one. I like the result. As always, playing with colour and blending is something I enjoy. My favourite thing: the way the sky blended |
![]() Calm2014 (11x14, for sale) I'm pretty pleased with this one. I got some new brushes and was trying them out on this painting. My favourite thing: the clouds | ![]() The Whole World2014 (14x11, for sale) I apparently have a thing for big expansive skies. I'm noticing a trend. Inspired by a sunset I saw. My favourite thing: the sky |
![]() LightningNEW 2015 (20x16, unavailable) My sister got married this past August, and this was my gift to her and her husband. My favourite thing: The colour contrast | ![]() Blue WatersNEW 2015 (11x14, for sale) Inspired by the way the sky melted into the horizon, so I kind of wanted to achieve that here. My favourite thing: I love the clouds and waves in this one. |
![]() After the StormNEW 2015 (16x12, for sale) I wanted to go for a bit of a different colour palette with this one. It was a bit of a play-it-by-ear piece that I ended up really liking. My favourite thing: the sunrays. |
Acrylics
2011-present
I began painting with acrylics as an experiment. I had a few inherited supplies, and so enjoyed the process and end result that I quickly purchased more supplies and kept going.
